For Immediate Release:

When it rains, it pours but not for Joey Lamielle.

When touring professional Joey Lamielle rolled into town this past week to play in the Capital One Classic, he was ready to win and add another tournament to his growing list of accomplishments for the 2009 season, only Mother Nature had a different plan!

The Tight Lies Tour found itself this week in Houma, Louisiana gearing up for another weekly event with a full field of promising young tour professionals, which included Florida’s Joey Lamielle. Joey, who has been racing up the leader boards all over the country on several different tours, opened this tournament with a blistering six under par 66. While the weather was starting to turn for the worse, it only made Joey play better. When asked about is opening round Joey replied “It’s all done, once you believe and I believe that I am just starting to hit my stride.”

While several other notable players shot under par Joey found himself atop of the leader a board after the first round. The second round weather was similar to first only the rain was strong enough to cause several players concern for safety. When asked about the conditions Joey Lamielle’s “Head” Coach Dr. Travis Fox, of the “Beat The Bogey Man Series” and the new “Get Psyched Program,” stated “We prepared Joey for this mentally, however we didn’t build an ark, so we are preparing that now for the third round.” Prepared Joey was as he shot a two under part, 70 in the pouring conditions leaving him in fourth place with a total of eight under par and in striking distance to win.

This was not to be. The third round and the ark never made an appearance due to the flooding rains the literally buried the course making play impossible. The directors of the Tight Lies Tour decided safety was more important and the tournament was officially ended with only thirty-six holes played. While disappointed, Joey and the field of professional players all agreed handing Joey with another top five finish. Joey on his fourth place finish, “I am grateful that we are all safe and while I know I was in great position to win this event, I couldn’t agree more with the Tight Lies Tour’s call to close the event. I look forward to my next event and to finishing in the top five at the U.S. Open this year!”

Joey will be playing on the Nationwide Tour all the month of April and can be visited at www.JoeyLamielle.com.
